Kylan fell in love with the stage at the age of four when she volunteered to take part in the Just Gotta Dance program on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska. She was the youngest person to ever take part and nailed the three-minute choreography with only four practices. An actress was born!
After returning home, Kylan began acting and dance classes at The Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN and landed her first theatre role as part of the ensemble in the Center’s performance of The Homecoming. Her next role as an orphan in Annie Jr. introduced Kylan to the Center’s Young Entertainers on Stage program. Kylan’s first taste of the spotlight came with the role of Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol, again with The Renaissance Players. It was after the spotlight turned her way that Kylan began perfecting her craft with weekly voice lessons.
Her hard work and determination were rewarded when she auditioned at The Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville, TN and earned the role of Young Cosette in Les Miserables and again when she sang for Michael Rafter and was asked to attend Destination Broadway. Young Cosette was her first experience with a professional theatre and Destination Broadway is a week long intensive camp taught by Broadway actors in New York City. Working with professional actors taught Kylan the work ethic it takes to juggle school responsibilities with an eight-show week and still go to sleep smiling!
Kylan’s most recent role with The Roxy, Jane Banks in Mary Poppins, has been her most challenging and most rewarding role yet. Being Jane Banks allowed Kylan to collaborate with performers that motivated her in all aspects of her theatre career.
Kylan plans to continue her education in the arts through plays, voice, piano and dance lessons. She hopes God will continue to use her gift to put smiles on other’s faces and memories in her heart.
